Chiappa LA322 Bandit Boot Leg .22lr 12" Non-Restricted

Getting NS to bring in full length stocks that a guy could trim to suit will be hard enough.... I'd be more tempted to drill a hole in the rear of the grip and figure out how to make a Sten like T-style stock fit into the grip, it could be keyed to stop it from rotating and held in place with a rare earth magnet for easy assembly/disassembly.

I sure don't "need" another .22lr, and no doubt the construction quality is typical Cheeeapass, but damn that Booty Bandit is cool looking!

:)

The takedown design is pretty goofy as pointed out previously in that unlike the Marlin 39 takedown the Cheeeapass takedown has the leaver stuck to the receiver and sticking back adding unnecessary length and exposing the lever to potential damage. On the Booty bandit taking down the gun would only shorten the package by a few inches.

It’s a shame it doesn’t take down like the Marlin.
Even a couple of inches makes a difference for storage though. Down from 20ā€ to 18 or so lets it fit in some 3-day style backpacks.
I do worry a bit at the unsupported lever and innards getting damaged in transport.

I have a few takedown rifles...they never get taken down for transport or whatever, I don't see the point really. If I'm talking it out to shoot, I don't want to put it together at the range or in the bush or whatever lol. I'm going shooting with it.
Something like these Chiapas just makes for easier cleaning, which is a plus IMHO.

I also don't take down all takedown guns when they are in storage or transport unless it's beneficial for space savings and the design is well thought out. The Ruger 10/22 Takedown is one of the better designed takedown .22lr's available, even more so paired with the Magpul backpacker stock that connects the 2 parts in a way that makes it one unified package instead of 2 separate pieces.

Easy disassembly for cleaning and maintenance with minimal tools and captured fasteners is always a plus and often seen in military rifles where the maintenance might be in less then ideal conditions.

Currently unavailable at sfrc. So they wont be honouring any sort of sale price. Im assuming they sold a bunch this week. Also waiting to see if there is another coincidental restock right after the sale.
