Chiappa Little badger 243 /410 barrel blows off ..... any thoughts advice

Yeah you can see the remains of the solder on the barrel where it meets the receiver.
Pretty lame way to attach a barrel to a receiver...

To me, that method of barrel fitment is gross negligence in design and manufacture in a firearm chambered for modern centerfire ammo. How the fook does Chicrappa manage to sell those boils in the UK, let alone here? I figger'd new guns coming into UK would need proof testing before going to market.
Uuugh. f:P:

Ya, this is a crazy way to build a rifle for a high pressure round like this. I would have assumed the lockup would have been the issue on a break action, then to see a press fit or soldered barrel is crazy.
Like is there no industry standard to meet here? Legally?

It is common practice for double guns to be made using a monoblock for the breech, with the barrels inserted into it. Many shotguns are made this way. The barrels may be soldered or bonded in place. Centerfire rifle barrels my be threaded into the monoblock.
No idea if it was simply pressed into place, soldered or bonded.
Steyr SSG .308 precision rifles had their barrels pressed in - rebarreling required a trip back to the factory. These were quality, high performing rifles. So pressing a barrel in can be done safely.
This one - repaired or replaced - I don't think I would ever be comfortable shooting it.

I’m not saying this ones not safe, just not quite as safe as other ones, some are built so the front doesn’t fall off at all.

Chicrappa is a good name for their stuff. I have a really nice looking 44 mag carbine. Trouble is that the barrel looks like a D9 Cat was turned loose inside after it was rifled. Leaded up so bad I had to take it to a gunsmith to get cleaned out. In fact, today is the day I'm going to take a couple of "before" pics of the bore, then go out and blow off a bunch of copper jacket ammo to see if it has smoothed out any. I posted pics of this POS a while back. I'll start a new thread after I get today over.

IMO chiappa puts all their effort into the appearance of their firearms, as most of the ones I have handled look very nice, but thats where the quality stops. Beautiful wall hangers.
