Don't get me wrong, I think paracord is very useful. My wife took my roll of it to hang up swimsuits the last time we were camping.

I get the idea of being prepared and having a bit of everything a person may need. But I question the value of wrapping all my belongings with the stuff, especially when in a real survival situation my time would be better spent gathering firewood rather than untangling string from my other gear.

An average unopened spool of paracord (or the C Tire equivalent) takes up less space than a pepper shaker. I will continue to throw it in the bottom of my backpack.

I do understand what you are saying. My idea of it is ; Paracord in the the backpack is a part of packing and being prepared for what you will need it for, paracord on your equipment is having a preparedness for when you didn't know you'd need it.

Like tassels/strips on real cowboy's coats. Not for pretty, but handy for repairing tack.

ebay. Or since it's only a .22 I put the flash hider from my AR on it since it was just sitting in a drawer after I put my ebay brake on the AR. p.s. My ebay brake works great!

EBay is a great resource, I got mine from a local gun shop. This one is always advertising "cash for guns" it is amazing the kinds of guns that go through there. They also end up with a lot of interesting used parts there. They couldn't remember what kind of gun my brake came off of and I've looked around and never been able to find anything the same.
