Just received a brand new Chiappa Little Badger in the mail today. Rifle looks good, surprisingly light and small. Decent build quality.
However.........

As soon as I shouldered the rifle and looked down the sights I could tell the front sight wasn't indexed properly. Looking down the sights it sits off to the left a few degrees off-center. The front sight is held on with a small set screw that sits into a hole drilled into the barrel. Either the hole was drilled off centre or the barrel wasn't installed centred. I'm no gunsmith so I'm not sure which it is. I don't see any easy way to fix the issue. I have no plans for an optic, I generally prefer irons.

Is this kind of mis-alignment acceptable? I haven't shot it yet, should I not worry about it?

Should I pack it up and sent it back for a replacement?

I googled the issue, couldn't find anyone else with the same issue with this gun.

A.

Options...

1. Contact the dealer, ask for a replacement.
2. Ignore it. It will likely shoot just fine.
3. Use pliers, bend the post and ears vertical.
4. Have a smith tap a new hole and detent for a properly indexed sight.
5. Remove screw, index the sight properly, and JB Weld it in place.

Mine has a little set screw on the front site that can be loosened and the sight straightened again. My front site was loose and wiggled back and forth till I snugged it up.

The sight is made of plastic, do not put pliers on it.

I brought it back to the point of purchase for a warranty replacement. Was given a new one, but first the guy at the counter tries to tell me "it's probably supposed to be off center like that". Ummm, sure. I opened up the boxes of 2 band new badgers and they both had front sites indexed properly at 12oclock. A christmas miracle! Obviously I had a bad rifle, screwed up at the factory.

Nope
par for the course.
My experience with Chiappa is that they have no quality control whatsoever
