Chiappa M1-22 reviews?

Here is my M1-22 with original M1 front and rear sights, and barrel band w/bayo mount. These are before I refinished them to better match the rifle finish (they were a mix of park'd and blued parts...)

Very nice work Weapontech!
I will be looking at replacing the rear sight in the near future as well. Got a spare you want to sell?

Just bought one last Sunday at Cablela's in Regina. They were "on sale" at $349+ tax, so $385. Haven't fired it yet. Busy breaking in a Rock Island 10/22 clone.

I have about 600 rds through mine now. It is sensative with its ammo, only like high velocity jacketed RN 40gr ammo. 36s don't cycle well and lead that's not shaped round doesn't feed well. Other than that it is a joy to shoot, I love it. I haven't taken any others out in the last month and a bit since buying this one. It's been great, and believe it or not it's my first .22. Ha ha.

.....Oh well, my new James River Armory M1 Carbine I just received form IRUNGUNS surely makes up for the Chiappa with it's crisp 6lb trigger.

Not to hijack the thread - but I hope your JRA M-1 Carbine was better than the one I got....
The fit & finish was horrible; huge gaps between metal and wood. I was really surprised considering the $1399 price tag. Back it went.

Sad to hear you got a roach weapontech. The fit and finish on mine is great, the two USGI magazines provided function great but admittedly look like crap with the light surface rust.
It shoots 3 MOA @ 100 with hornady 110 RNs. I'm constantly scrounging for components to feed it however and that is somewhat annoying.
I really feel satisfied with the purchase considering what you get on the EE for a grand, the new Criterion barrel matters more to me then collector value, hope it holds up on the long term.
I'll PM gunsdora about the rear sight...thanks weapontech.

Ya, I was pretty bummed, I was really hoping for a great rifle for the price - not to hijack this thread any further, but I've had a string of bad-luck buying on the Internet. Not the EE mind you, but purchasing new guns from dealers. I think I'm going back to my old buying tactics; if I can't see it in person, I don't need it.

How about a range report on the two of them, please? Very interested in the 10/22 clone.

yeah i handled one the other day.. the stock is nice.. thats about all ive got to say about the gun thats good.

Trigger at 12lb is a little bit too heavy for my liking.
terrible plastic rear sight
plastic everywhere else

i opted out of buying it

will track down the real deal instead

Maybe you could find an Erma M1 clone in .22? replacement operating rods are being made somewhere in the UK from what I heard.
