Hey folks, anyone have any experience with the chiappa m1-9 carbine? Bought a reloading press from a friend a while ago with all the goods needed to reload 9mm, but no 9mm eaters. Thinking of picking one of these cheapies up to burn ammo with while I wait for the restricted backlog to thin out a bit..

but ya, opinions on the m1-9? experiences? alternate suggestions?

Thanks folks, and may your targets be Holey :)

loved mine, sorry I got rid of it. The sights were the biggest issue, not because they were inaccurate, but they didn't go beyond about 50 yards even at max setting. Use factory beretta mags though, some of my 92fs aftermarket mags didn't feed consistently. Other than that it was a great plinker or close in (even for 9mm) gun

Its a good little unrestricted carbine. The chambers appear to be a tad short so any extra bullet ogive or extra length will jam.
The OEM sights are just adequate, but the weaver rail offers plenty of opportunities if you completely remove the rear sight. Bushnell’s new-ish TRS26 RedDot with the raised platform should easily fit.

Plus you can use Beretta 92FS magazines.

Just put the order in today, after agonizing over choices for the 9mm platform, i went right back to the m1-9 heh. Decided on the wood stock, as the reviews ive read seemed to show the wood one was a little better constructed. the plastic sling mount on the synthetic was the straw that broke the camels back.

Your going to find a lot of plastic on the wood one also. Sights, mag well, safety, bayonet lug. But they are a nice looking carbine and mine only had one failure to feed in close to 400 rounds fired.

funny enough i ended up with the synthetic on the way. the store notified me chiappa had mistakenly shipped them double synthetic instead of their wood order. theyve refunded the difference in price. Im eager to put hands on it heh
