Chiappa Rhino .40 VS Smith and Wesson 610

Well, if either one explodes, you're going to have a worse time with the Chiappa. Probably not that easy to find parts for, either. I really like the 6 o'clock barrel placement, but wish it were executed by some other manufacturer.
 
I liked my Chiappa Rhino. 600 rounds of 357 and a few hundred 38 Special, never had one issue. Your mileage may vary I suppose.

I had another Chiappa that was a piece of junk. My current 44 lever action takedown is flawless.
 
you will find that a lot of people have opinions on the rhino who don't own one, or have ever fired one...and personal aesthetic choices are fair enough, but they should not translate to a gun being a POS. I've owned (and fired) revolvers manufactured by S&W, Taurus, Chiappa, Beretta, Uberti, even Webley's! they all have good and bad selling points, and they all appeal to people for different reasons. old school revolver guys are hilarious, and look sideways at any revolver that can load more than 6 rounds in the cylinder...hence the reaction to my "un-natural" S&W TRR8. if it sits right in your hand, and shoots good for you? buy it, use it, and enjoy it...and ignore everyone else.
the late emilio ghisoni (the designer/creator of the Rhino) contributed more to firearms than anyone you will speak to in this or any other forum on CGN.

Mine's .38/.357, but have had my Rhino over a year now with aprx 1k rounds, including no shortage of hot .357M, through it and zero issues. It's the 60DS and very accurate to boot.
 
The Yankee Marshall on YouTube carried one in 40sw for a while. Actually i think he carried a 357 snub nose one first, then switched to the 40. (Firing the 357 in an enclosed space blew out one of his ear drums if i recall correctly. Lol)
