Chiappa Rhino

Picked mine up from SFRC. It's a neat little gun, the recoil is... different. Pushes straight back, not much of a flip. I've only had time to take it to the range twice so far this summer.

The biggest downside for me is the irons, the black-on-black is hard to make out, I need to either dab some paint on it or get some replacement fibre-optic sights.

Hi there,
I have the 5" model, 50DS, with black finish. Great revolver, easy recoil, even when shooting .357 mag loads. As advertised: recoil comes straight back, making the revolver much easier to handle with hotter loads. sights are adjustable...only the grips take a bit of getting used to, as does the position of your hands on the grip, which seem too small at first. double action pull is a bit long, but not unreasonable. single action is nice and crisp...good value in my opinion, and worth buying for sure.

Just picked one up and i find it to be well worth the money. Recoil is practically non-existent (full house .357 had less felt recoil than my G17) and the trigger is not that bad. Accuracy is good but not on par with my Python. This pistol made me take the wheelguns out again and i have not done that in likely a decade. May not be the prettiest in my eyes but i do believe function over form has its place in the scheme of things too. Just gotta find some speed oaders somewhere. Rumor has it that L frame loaders work. Can anyone confrm this?

... shot a few relays with one owned by a club member. It is definitely a "different" shooting experience, and for that alone it is worth the purchase. Nothing could be more tedious than owning a bunch of pistols that all shoot the same.

The Rhino happens to shoot well, and is of good quality. The design innovation is well worth exploring.

Moreover, the thing is just butt-ugly, in exactly the way one would expect a freak revolver described as a "rhino" to be. What's not to love?

Not a choice for a first revolver, but definitely for a second!

.

Anyone have one? Consudering pulling the trigger on it.

Yes.

If the recoil is practically non existent what is the point?

Buy a .22!

If it was meant to be a combat pistol, or defensive weapon than it is a great design, but for range use, I can't see the point.

Target reacquisition!

I'm in love with the engineering behind the thing, personally.

Better target results ? Thats gotta count some.

Inexperienced guests who fire it are amazed at the full loads and controllable recoil.

Have one and is my first revolver owned. Love the recoil alignment with barrel positioned at 6 o'clock position. Hate the heavy, long trigger pull for double action but it's a revolver so m'eh. Single and double action for hammer is not like conventional revolver. Pedigree and heritage of design is quite innovative from Italy. if you are a fan of intimidating and chunky pistols the Rhino is definitely a contender. I have the five inch barrel so it is not compact nor lightweight. Definitely packs a punch when firing and one will feel the force of the recoil right into the ground. Good luck with your search.
