They are Steyr built Mausers. They come in two lengths. They also come in two different cartridges. 7.62x51Nato and 7x57Mauser.
They are worn on the exterior and are mismatched. They headspace OK and internally, are almost excellent. I have a long version of both. Also picked up one of the VG rated ones from P&S. They are very accurate and functional.
The 7.62Nato marked rifle, has a .3085 bore. Not worn, that is the nominal diameter. They are the exact same lenth as the 7x57 rifles, so the barrels, would have been purpose built. The receivers on the 7x57 rifles are finished in the white, the 7.62 rifles, are blued and crudely stamped 7.62 Nato on the bridge. The bores in both are excellent. There aren't any cleaning rods, unless you put out the extra for the VG rated rifles. It would also be prudent, to buy a bayonet for the rifle at the same time. These have a habit, of becoming hard to find, later.
