Chilliwack Gun Show ...

Well, after some searching I finally found the boys at Canada Ammo.

Shortly thereafter I was the proud owner of yet another case of bench-mark IWI 62g Green Tips !

Thanks Chris - you sir, ROCK !!!

I didn't buy much, but I met a lot of old friends and acquaintances.
Some than I havent seen since my time in the RFOC-BC (Responsible Firearms Owners Coalition - BC )
Others that I previously worked with, etc...
And, of course, others that I met thru CGN.

It took me quite a while to find the Canada Ammo table but it was worth it! I found a map and a list of vendors by they are listed by the name of the renter not the company name which did not help very much. This was my first year going so I was surprised how crowded it was! The old guys would even glare when you walked by their tables.

Picked up a rare 1903 Springfield. 1917 receiver with a 1942 barrel marked USMC. Very rare marking and the rifle was in really good shape. I found everything else pretty expensive this year. Most of the older NO1 MK 3's were all at $850 or more. Would have liked to buy a few more rifles, will have to wait for the Surrey show.

signed up for CCFR, bought a pound of Titegroup, 30 8mm mauser cartridges and 2 brass, and some assorted other small items

Hemmed and hawed over some things, one being a '44 PCMR in .30WCF and one a Stoeger Luger in .22lr and a Garand or two that appeared nice for fairly decent prices.

All in all, good day, fun was had.

There was the usual overpriced stuff that you see but this was one of the best years for me ever. I got 1980's pricing on some stuff. Found stuff that I didn't need but could not have passed on the prices. My friends who got tables told me that it was big year in terms of the deals made before the doors even opened.

Hey Boys -

'Just wanted to remind everyone that I started this thread in CanAm's forum to find out where they where located whilst I stood in line outside the building.

I wasn't sure how many people were gonna make a bee-line to their table for the limited quantity of IMI & PMC Ammo they mentioned they would have on hand.

As it was, I left a happy, well armed camper !!

Thanks again Chris - Abby

They also had a bunch of Norinco jw-20s (Browning .22 takedown clones) without stocks for $50. I was SUPER tempted, but I've got enough projects on the go.

Trying to get my dad out to the show today! His range day was cancelled so why not take the drive! Is there Still a lot of stuff to look at?

depends what you're into. If you're someone into carbines and handguns, this isn't the place for you. Mostly just old hunting rifles for sale and random artwork. Wasn't really much of a gun show, more just a flea market for guns. All the good reasonably priced stuff was gone just a few hours after it opened on Saturday.

Are you driving from Edmonton?! If that were the case, I'd probably stay home... But if you're somewhat in the area, it's worth checking out. Saw a few Brens, a couple of FALs, a case full of Lugers. But as been said, mostly older hunting rifles and such. For $5 it's a good way to burn a couple hours.

t97

Went there today. Everything is overpriced. A guy wanted 1200 for his used T-97. All I left with was the Capri insurance policy.

that seller was a joke , i talked to him, i can buy the same t97 online for 900 , lots of grumpy, rude sellers. several yelled at customers in front of me,
avoid, poco military table. very rude,

80 percent of the stuff for sale is overpriced trash.

huh. Poco military has been great for me. Always willing to make a deal, friendly, helpful and willing to go the extra mile.

Yes they have some lower priced stuff, but they have to have something for everyone and lots of people like Chinese rails and optics etc.

They often have hard to find calibers, rare stuff and overall lots of inventory.

yes, a $1200 T97 is a complete farce, clearly. Lots of that out there too.
