Chilliwack Precision Rifle Match 2007

Longshot: Alright not suspicion (couldn't find the right word), but unnecessary attention, yes. Oh and I do dismiss salutes with a dirty look, always have.
Slavex: An NCM salutes an officer as a sign of "ready to take orders" (a sign of respect really), and an officer salutes back to acknowledge that. A civy saluting to an NCM or any member of the CF for that matter, like Longshot said, is like waving to a guy with no arms.

I know its not 'cool' but whats wrong with wearing jeans and a t shirt....All too often these matches resemble army cadet excercises....long hair/pony tails/mullets....Attempts to 'blouse' ones 'combat boots' (bright and still shiny from Daves Surplus with price tage still showing) and a mixture of woodland camo and Brit DPM worn in concert:rolleyes:

As stated above, BDU's are comfortable to shoot in and it just makes it more interesting. Also, me and a few others might be representing our unit.

I remember wearing 'combats' (Not American 'BDU') whilst in the CF and the required dress did not really make range / qual. days more interesting...

It's different if you're doing range qualification. There's a sense of pride in wearing your uniform and representing your unit at non-military shooting match.

Most of the time jeans are waaaay tooo hot to shoot in, and are just plain uncomfortable in some of the postions we shoot.

BDU's are comfortable to shoot in and are loose fitting for moving around in postion.Plus having the extra pockets is a bonus.AFor civies, as long as no military insignias or rank is worn there should be no problems.

I don't really care what guys wear as long as they are out shooting the match and shooting it safely (and aren't dickheads...... ).

Hi Rohann, When you get to the range and you are wearing your BDU's that will let us civi's know who to give a hand to. he he.
Haha quite honestly, I'd appreciate that. I haven't been doing this shooting thing for very long:redface:.

It would be a pleasure to meet you. Hopefully I will be there. Longshot did a great job. But I hope we will not have to work the butts. I am going to have a long talk with Pitcairn. he he

And a pleasure to meet you! Is LS running it again next year? All I heard was good things about this year's match.
Paid target pullers would be great; usually when we shoot here on the island we all chip in a few bucks to pay them, makes for much more convenient shooting.

It was my decision to NOT go with paid target markers this year. The reason was that not enough people had pre registered and paid to make it possible. The same will happen next year if people don't get thier acts together sooner. No need to ask Bob anything about this match. Its run by me,not him.

I'll try and get as many guys from my unit out there as I can, we have a crapload of new recruits this year many of which are interested in shooting.

Sorry Longshot don't mean to step on anyones toes. No one told me you were the one to call off the butts detail. But I will see ya at the AGM. For Rohann could someone give the address for the AGM. Thanks
