I have seen no issues with them whatsoever against AR500 steel targets. If that is what your range uses then you won't have any damage on targets.
In fact the only ammunition that I have used that has ever damaged AR500 has been specific tungsten cored .338LM and .50BMG armor piercing ammo. That ammo will penetrate cleanly through 1/2" armour plate that laughs off conventional projectiles of the same calibre.
I have also created incredibly shallow craters (maybe 1mm depth?) By using high velocity rifle cartridges far closer than would generally be advisable, like 25 meters.
