Any guys out there got hands on experience with these new shot guns? I was thinking about one, but i haven't heard of any reviews of finish and function.

Im curious too, what ive heard is their a bit rough on the action but nothing a couple hundred rounds and some lapping compound probally wont fix

all I know is I want one, but not one that has "imported by lever arms" engraved on the side of the receiver. WTF were they thinking

I have one. I don't mind the imported by lever thing. I completely understand anybody that does mind it though. If this gun wasn't made by polytech I would probably care too. This gun is just for fun, so I'm not worried.

Bottom line is that this is Polytech/Norinco/whoever so its not going to be the nicest looking gun. The wood is ok, the finish is ok. Its better than the previous Norinco that I've owned. I'm actually quite happy with it. I have noticed that the stock has some dings just from the shells ejecting. So maybe the wood is soft I dunno.

Life has been busy so I've yet to fire it. But it seems to cycle my snap caps just fine. Its like you have probably read though. You have to rack this gun like you hate it or the shell will not eject. I have to say though that I think the shortcomings this shotgun has is from the design, not the company remaking it. I've held the Chiappa $1100 version and was so close to buying it. But it would not eject a shell. I couldn't get it to, and the guy selling it to me couldn't get it to either. I've done a lot of research online about this gun. And the one thing I see over and over is that they have ejecting problems. Every single one. They can be made to work better, but I don't think they are going to function like a modern pump or something. There are some guns I would bet my life on, this ain't one of them.

Oh and it was 28" but I cut it down to 19".

Anyway, haven't shot it yet so its hard to say. Don't you just hate reading about some dude with his new gun but has yet to fire it. I do.

These are popular in the land Down Under where us sporting shooters are not allowed pumps or semi auto shotguns. Back in 1996 when our laws became ridiculously tight (due to the Port Arthur massacre) the only lever action shotguns around were collectible and expensive ie original Winchesters so nobody bothered banning them.

We get them branded as IAC but they are the same gun. They were available as 28" or 20" although they stopped importing the longer ones ages ago due to lack of demand. You can fit five in the tube, on on the carrier and one in pipe for seven rounds of fun :D Note, they can not take 3" shells.

They are no longer being imported here at all due to Customs deeming the design unsafe. Apparently the firing pin rests on the primer or something and they do not have a safety. Half #### used to be deemed a safety device but their policy changed for some reason.

The importer changed all the firing pins out for shorter ones to get them through Customs but were forbidden from bringing in the original firing pins even as parts. The result is the guns out of the box are a lucky dip. Some work all the time, some work with only certain brands of shells (mine would only fire Winchester originally) and others would work but only intermittently. The solution was to pay a gunsmith $50 to make an "extended" firing pin. Now mine works a treat.

The only thing with these shotguns is you have to make sure you cycle the action completely or you won't eject the spent hull, you will just put it back into the chamber. Be rough and it will work every time, be gentle and you will think you have bought the most unreliable POS ever. Ours came with leather strapping wound around the lever and I thought it looked like crap but you will be glad its on there after blasting for a while.

Chiappa make a version as well but here they are about $400 dearer than the Norinco and from talking to shooters who have the Chiappa they are no more reliable and one guy even said he wished he had just bought the cheap Norinco cause his Chiappa wouldn't cycle for crap even after three trips back to the dealer he bought it off whereas his Norinco works every time. The Chiappa is prettier and they also make a stainless version but I have heard first hand from a number of unhappy Chiappa buyers and not just of their shotguns but also their lever action rifles.

These guns are great fun!

Haha for "some reason". Sucks to hear that. I know a lot of Canadians see what happened to your country and are scared to death of something like that happening here where they ban everything. Thanks for your post though, good info!

DAM good reviews on it again. You know what this means. I better make some room on that credit card. I new i could trust you guys to spend my money:D
#### ! now i got to beg her, or sneak it in

Glockster dude whats the oal once you cut the barrel ? I want to cut the stock too and make it into a terminator gun , can you measure for me from the pistol grip to about a half inch shorter than your barrel ? As if the barrel was 18.5 instead of 19 inches

Thanks
