Even if I did have a dishwasher, I would never use it for anything but dirty dishes...

I'm sure you guys know just how nasty some of the chemicals that are used to clean and lube gun parts can be. Same for the stuff in the stocks. I can't believe some people acually put recievers and barrels in there too.... are you guys nuts? Doesn't having lead in your dishwasher worry you at all?

Your wives are right to put you on the couch.

Ahhhh, who cares...we all have large amounts of lead and chemicals in us anyway after handling firearms all our lives. What doesn't kill us, makes us stronger. :dancingbanana: The dishwasher is great for cleaning more then dishes.

ya wuss...;)

Not only haven't I been caught (yet) cleaning stocks in the dishwasher, I haven't been busted for rinsing brass in the sink either. I'm sure the day I get caught for that one there will be some shouting:runaway:

And tyler? don't worry I scub it all out with cleanser after......:dancingbanana:

As a Maytag Rep, I thought I had heard it all!!!! But still not the weirdest thing washed in a dishwasher. I will have to try it myself. I have a couple of toys still in cosmoline.

remember its not going to just "clean" your toys out of the cosmo.....its going to strip the finish right off the wood. so only put it in there if you want to refinish the wood.

I should hope so...

You guys might feel okay putting all sorts of noxious chemicals and heavy metal dust in your dishwashers... but I'd feel alot better not mixing that crap with the machine that washes the things I eat and drink from.

That's what the laundry basin in the basement is for. ;)

To each their own.

I once used my parents brand new maytag to clean some coneecting rods out of a 30yr old engine. What the hell, grease is grease right? Set 'er to pots & pans & let her rip. Dammed if they didn't come out like new! Nothing left in the machine either.

I think it explains a few repair jobs I've been called out on. ;)

If this gets back to head office they will be putting a new label on the stainless models and selling them as commercial parts cleaners - for triple the price...

My stock is in the dishwasher right now. I can't help but laugh everytime I walk into the kitchen. LOL. I wonder what it will look like when it is finished...

Hope you don't ever shoot your guns...wouldn't want to put lead in the "air you breathe".

We never did hear anything more about the 18-yr old sister? Does she like guns? Does she hunt? Does she tolerate outrageous male behaviour? Have you taken her to the range?

(Only asking on behalf of the shy single guys.)

Better yet, did she see the movie "Venus" and think Peter O'Toole is the ###iest man alive?

Hey, even dirty old men can dream, can't we?

Hmmm. I think a range is a little different than sticking my guns into the machine that cleans my dishes. :onCrack:

This all reminds me of some cleaning show I saw while channel surfing a while back. There was this lady who had been using her dishwasher to clean her horses shoes (she had a stable out back). They ran some tests on her dishwasher, and sure enough, there were traces of feces ALL over the inside of the thing.

To each their own, right? :puke:

Paraniod bunch of wussies! I am sure you encounter much worse things throughout your day then what is in your dishwasher. Do you use detergent in your dishwasher?? That sh!t kills everything!

That is a good looking rifle!

thanks...the dishwasher method at its best. That is actually my secondary stock tho, my m14 usually wears a Springfield textured synthetic stock with a rooster cheek piece.
