Hey guys Im looking at ordering an SKS online. I really want another russian one but most have chinese norincos at a good price. None of the stores in my area have been getting there shipments in and need one asap. Anyone know of any good sites besides frontier firearms, marstar ?? Are the chinese norincos any good and curious if the parts are interchangable for all sks guns like my russian ? Thanks

Frontier is good , but you really ought to move the thread to "Red Rifles"
Most regulars in this forum don't consider an SKS to be milsurp.
Spend the extra and get a Russian one, you will be happier.

Norinco Military Surplus rifles will run as well as a Russian one, sometimes better, but often not. They won't be as pretty and will be somewhat rough around the edges, but they'll keep firing as long as you can keep feeding them.

They're both good buys. Get both! :D

My first SKS was a Norinco type but man it was finished great! As far as the factory and type I don't care enough about them, but this was the factory stamping.

My son's on the other hand was really primitively finished, and you are right; it does shoot as good.
But the Russian laminate ones are pretty nice.
Generally not many folks stay with Norinco. Start with them because they are affordable, then move up to a higher quality weapon.
And while some folks consider the Russian weapons crude and primitive; they are better finished and of better quality than the Norc's.
IMO
Stay safe

I got my new Type 56 from Wolverine a while back. It was essentially free with purchase of a case of surplus ammo. Shoots as well as any of my Russians, looks like crap by comparison.
