Chinese or Russian SKS?

Hey,

Bought a Chinese SKS but it's got some Russian on it. Anyone who's experienced with SKSs think it's Russian or is it still a Chinese one?

Molot import markings. Most definitely a heavily refurbished Russian model. Someone screwed up somewhere along the way, and you didn't get exactly what you thought you were going to get, but you still ended up with a decent rifle regardless.

Just searched it up, looks like it is a Tula dust cover..

Russians are more valuable than Chinese ones so I'm not sweating haha

You have a Russian Molot factory refurbished SKS. Originally, as the dust cover shows, it was a 1951 Tula manufactured SKS refurbished at the Soviet 1st GRAU arsenal in present Ukrainian Balakleya (identified by a square with diagonal on the receiver cover) and then issued by the Molot Factory in 2014 after some additional mechanical work and coating. The white markings under the gas tube are as follows:
O П-CKC - охотничье-промысловый ("commercial hunting (carbine)) - SKS
B П- Вятско-Полянский машиностроительный завод «Молот»- Vyatsko-Polansky "Molot" machine work plant - symbol of the Molot plant
CIP/N- a mandatory proof mark for Russian export
ГИС - Государственная Испытательная Станция (State Proof Station) 14 which means "year 2014"
The Molot SKS's are black coated. This coat resembles parkerizing and is not like a "barbecue paint". It's surprisingly scratch resistant. These Molot SKS's are the least desirable but may (may not) be good shooters.

how do the letter series blued sks stack up in desirability?

to country like America and then the import
certificate was not approved.
Then it ended up in Canada and other countries that

IMHO the letter series SKS's are very desirable/collectible (see here:https://sks-files.com/index.php?topic=764.0). I've had one, a laminate 1957 Tula series И= I in English. It looked non-refurb. Gave it as a birthday present to my son-in-law.
The only problem was a "Franken" pinning of the magazine which is rather typical for those imported from Ukraine like around 10-8 years ago.
