I'm asking because I don't know. I'm not trying to start an argument here. What is the gun in the photo?

I was @ a GTA dealer on the weekend that moves allot of SKSs, I saw them showing a "jungle stock" SKS to a customer that didn't have the "tickler" hand guard.

I haven't read this whole thread, but I am curious if the ribbed handguard is it's own model, or if any SKS with a fiberglass stock is considered a French Tickler?

The Type 56 with the french tickler and the Type 56 jungle stock are two different models.

Top: French tickler has a wood stock with composite hand guard. Only on late 1970's (78,79, 80 and some say 81) production run from Factory 26.

Bottom: Jungle stock is all synthetic with synthetic hand guard.

like others have said, jungle stock and french tickler are two different production so different production dates. yes, you can put a rib top handguard on any chinese sks but it wouldnt really be a french tickler unless it falls within the production dates.

"Triangle 26" on Youtube says he has seen production records indicating Factory 26 was producing them into 1981, which would put them in the 26 million serial number, but he has never seen one.

He theorizes that those guns and or parts had their serials and military markings ground off and those gus or parts were assembled into guns, and were re-serialized and sold on the international commercial market by Norinco.

Just received a non- french tickler from g4c. Box was labeled french tickler. Not too upset with them. They shipped it properly. Box wrapped in cardboard.

Tenda just slapped a label on the box. Barrel was poking out by the time I got it.

I'm one french tickler out of three.

Did you order a French Tickler though? Their site still lists French Ticklers as in sock.

If you did, contact them, see if they will make it right. If it came like that from China, a regular type 56 in a box marked as containing a French Tickler, they may not even be aware what they are selling as a french tickler isn't.

you didnt say you received a blade or fibreglass so you had to have ordered a french tickler bcos the other two are very distinct, there aint nothing else.

but before you let them know of their error, post some pics including the left side of the receiver here bcos there maybe a gem like a sino soviet or a rare stamped receiver or a rare cased receiver (hoping, lol).

middle one is the one I just received all three were supposed to be french tickler the outside two came from tenda last year

as you can tell what you JUST received isnt a french tickler. french tickler is better made among mid production (short barrel lug). looks like this happened to you before with one of the tenda orders.

this happened to me with a big box store, luckily it was in person so i just walked away.
