Had a question.

i own a Chinese variant. i suffer from rust issues on the gas piston tube.
maybe its just the Chinese metals? maybe someone can shed some light on this?

The main question, will all Russian SKS parts work on the Chinese SKS.
gas tube, trigger, EXT?

help!!

Majority of parts are interchangeable, yes.

Leverarms sells Chinese parts.

Rust is not specific to the Chinese gas tube / piston. The Russian is identical. You're not cleaning it right. You can do a search here about cleaning after corrosive ammo.

Except the Chinese ones usually shoot better.......why is that ? I have both...there is at least 3 different firing pin types maybe 4 as I don't have the book handy and not all are compatable.....Harold

boiling water is your friend. turkey pan, get it all down the bore, wipe off, dry, solvent the bore with patches and oil, oil your parts and assemble. no rust :)

Lol if you have been cleaning it perfectly it wouldn't be rusting. There isn't much more to it. Steel doesn't just rust for no reason even if it's lower quality.

It depends a little what year russing piston/tube you get. I got a spare chinese tube/piston to paint black so i didn't mess with my original when i changed the stock and the tube and piston were about 1/8" too long to fit on a 1954 SKS, but they snapped into a 1950 one with a perfect fit.

I know for a fact that a 1960's Chinese military gas tube and gas piston will fit 100% unaltered on a 1954 Tula. I have pics to prove. So I can't imagine the reverse not being possible.

I have no idea what year the chinese gas tube was, or possibly they made spares a bit long so they could grind to fit in case there were different tolerances? I found it strange that it would fit one and not the other.
