I am looking to buy a couple of Chinese sks's and It seems they have dried up anyone know of a dealer with some in stock?

I got 1 from Frontier a month ago, price has since went up a few bucks. Just checked its gone up again. Was showing crates of 5 and crates of 3 last time I checked. Now showing just single SKS for 299.99.

Wow. Hope they had to pay more for their latest shipment. Otherwise, by simply increasing the price on an item they paid a low price for initially, because they smell blood in the water, is gouging. Coming from a guy who has given them thousands of dollars too.

Supply and demand.

Yup, that's the usual way of disguising it.
I did say I hope. I give them a lot of business and really like them. If they had to pay more for their latest order. Then by all means charge more. Definitely. If not, then....

You mean like the oil companies?

I'm selling my slightly modified Chinese SKS tomorrow at a gun show.... Maybe I can get my money out of it ;)

Dunno, but I'm of the same mind as Whelen in your sig. I've more or less lost interest in them for that reason.

What's the deal? No more Chinese SKS coming ever, or simply a temporary delay before the next container lands?

From what I recall, johnone, he of the all bold typing, who runs Marstar and is was for years the primary importer of the Chinese SKS's.... indicated that it was a case of Norinco (the exporter in China) wanted to jack up the price, and Marstar and the other importers flipped them the bird and walked away.

There were millions upon millions of Chinese SKS's made, never used, and put up into storage. There are no doub warehouses full of them somewhere in the great mystery storage bin known as "Mainland China" - but who knows if they'll ever get released.

[sarcasm]I know, we'll work out a combo deal and get them shipped over in the same container as the South Korean Garands{/sarcasm]

I have one for sale at the gunsmith. It's not moving. I will be picking it up next week and posting it on the EE (assuming it is still there).

$299 plus tax and shipping is a little steep - but supply and demand definitely plays a role here.

I recently picked one up off of the EE for $215 shipped. I imagine it's mostly the panic buyers getting them at the $299 price.

Yah ,the days of going into SIR (now Cabelas)and picking them up for $150-175 a peach are gone.I don`t however miss cleaning the cosmo from those "chu"wood stocks ,and trust me ,I bought and cleaned a few :)

Yup ,my first taste of good old cosmoline ,dripping ,soaking ,stinky cosmoline.

I love it !!!!!

But you gotta figure there are still plenty out there as mentioned ,especially since they never made it to the US market.
