Oh sorry... Here ya go. Its a little dif on the sks as it has the actual triangle around the numbers, and the corners are rounded.

thank you for the info. the type 77s were imported in the 90s and early 2000s i think. i found another gun with the 800+ serial number range just like mine and the photo (not the gun) was dated 2004.

Actually, found an article stating the t77b was actually created in 1989. So if that 8 is a year designator, that would make the gun a 1996.

It’s in a jungle stock with Bakelite handguard , no bayo and lug has cleaning rod guide hole but no place to screw on or mount bayo. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the info Boris , appreciate it. Just picked it up recently actually, got it for around $300CAN , stripped and cleaned her , I think it may be a keeper honestly. Great bore , nice and light and cool look to it. It’s all matching numbers that I can see as well. Can’t wait to shoot her.

Is this one of the recent imports to Canada? Or is it a previously owned (in canada) carbine?

I'm curious if anyone has been able to pin down if the recent chinese sks imports to Canada are coming from somewhere other than China.

It’s previously owned , the guy had it for 3 years and bought it off another guy. It’s passed through 3 hands for sure. It isn’t one of the ones Canadammo was just selling.

Hey, I just dug mine out of the safe where it's sat unused for years. It's a 26 in a triangle, with a V then 4###. From what I can tell it's a 1956 sino-soviet. In quite good shape. Any idea what they're worth?

Thanks

Please read this.... http://sks-files.com/index.php?topic=42.0

As far as value, where do you live? If your in the US I may be able to offer a best idea with some pics, but if your in Canada.... No idea.

Thanks loose-cannon. It seems to match some but not all of the criteria. Looks like this, and the numbers match on bolt and mag body. Not sure where else it would be stamped.

You have a letter series gun from 1959/60.

If your in Canada, that's one hell of a find! All normal places on an sks should be serialized. Bolt, carrier, cover, receiver, mag, stock, and trigger guard.

I have a V also....

oh, ok. Time to do some reading. It's been sitting in the back of the safe ignored for years up here in Canada. Thanks so much for your troubles.
