please check your Chinese SKS and see if your factory code is on this list , if not, would you kindly post a close up pic of the factory code, the serial numbers (you may block off the last couple of digits) and the area where the barrel meet the receiver (barrel lug) so i may update the table ... thanks

I cannot find a MFG code on my MC-5D. these were early guns converted to take AK mags but not sure what specific gun they used or if they converted anything they got their hands on.

I know MC-5D is a model#. I was curious as to why no MFG code and no Chinese letters on that SKS. I'm guessing that they may have been sanitized of all markings then restamped by the importer maybe?

I have tried to take a pic but didn't see well so i made a scrib the best has i can. My chinese sks have pinned barrel and stamped trigger guard, came with a fiber glass red stock but i change for wood.

thanks .... it looks like 6601 , the first number im not sure of , could you use chalk and then take a pic?

Very interesting list. The secret will be to figure out which one are the same factory, and from which era. I know several are still in operation, but most have closed.

SKS book by steve kehaya and joe poyer list a few factories but not enuff to account for that many factories.

I have an all matching factory 26 in excellent condition still packed with cosmoline. Based on the serial number it dates to 1967. It is on the the red synthetic jungle stock which I believe is correct for that period.

curtton, if you are putting together an info post like you did for the SKS I would be glad to post pics

Probably would'nt hurt to get in touch with Howie. You might have some new ones that he does'nt. I sent him a few new ones in the Spring that I picked up. Been awhile since they saw any new Chi-Coms south of the border.
