If u bought an ounce of gold 10 years ago, would u sell it for the price u paid or would u hope it goes up in value and u make some profit off it? Who would buy a couple crates of SKS's, store them for years then sell them for the same price they paid? It's called business. Lol If someone can buy them cheaper- lets hear it.

Yes they were $200 a few months ago. Now the supply is gone so.......
Watched it happen to ammo many times. Buy when the price is good!

Where are the people that said that SKS will not grow in price for many years?
Yes you can buy Molot import for 179$ today but are junk compared with Ucrainian SKS from yesterday.

I would love on of these, but with the season, I couldn't afford until the New Year. Too bad as they WILL all be sold by then. For you who don't like the price, that is your opinion, new unfired Chinese are excellent deal at this price, in this market. Free shipping would be nice though. Martstar brings the unusual and not often seen fire arms to the market.

No I don't work there.

OK, I am ready.........fire away

^^^ Exactly, it was an accidental investment in stock. Price is in the ballpark for how much the described item would go for today. I'm more of a bargain hunter so it is not for me. Tempting though, especially if it was to drop a bit in price. I expect they will sell at $300.

unreal. there's a different thread on this forum with guys complaining about the quality of some sks' that they recently got for $150 plus shipping and taxes. we want it cheap but good!

Typical marketing strategy. anybody who didn't see this coming must be the ones who would pay that price for an sks. Inventory doesn't just go missing... pretty sure that would be an enfraction of some sort to have controlled items misplaced.... just saying.

non-refurb unissued sks's of russian variety in somewhat dinged up condition are going for well-north of $300 on the EE.
If you were the only one bringing these to market, why on earth would you sell yourself short by giving it away at half market value? If marstar runs into some Vietnamese sks's and doesn't sell them at $150 i bet you all would cry again too. Finnish-nagants at more than $200? A TRAVISTY I tellz ya!

but no you guys are right, LETS OCCUPY MARSTAR!!!!

PS, dont occupy marstar, they are licensed machinegun owners. you would bleed a lot.

LMAO, at the same time, you can't compare the price to anything on the EE. You won't find a higher mark-up than on the EE...

It's like a store paying 10 cents for cans of beans and proceed to sell them for 50 cents.
Then a depression hits, and they start charging $5.00 per can for the same beans shipment of beans the store bought at 10 cents a can.

I bought a nice unfired chicom sks exactly as these ones are.. Milled receiver and trigger housing, threaded barrel, chrome lined barrel

I paid $275 over 20 years ago so $300 seems pretty darned in the ball park to me.. It sure beats out a lot of refurbs on the range :) And does NOT compare at all with those spray painted monstrosities I have seen flogged for almost the same price now and again..

List them at $200 = good profit and little controversy

List them at $300 = great profit and lots of controversy

Controversy = free advertising

IMO the Russian SKS is a much better gun......and at a better price, refurb or not.

I said the prices were going up last month. no one wanted to believe it.! I think its a fair price. Its a darn good rifle, and very accurate. It sure beats the other Junk SKS rifles being advertised by some vendors. I would pay the extra cash for this rifle. I don't want a mixed matched BBpainted beater banger for any price.

Actually, it's nothing like that. First, no depression right now and the higher price is not ten-fold what it was before.

This is selling stock of something that is fairly close to the going market rate for the described item.

How I see it, there are a lot of different SKS grades out there, and these particular ones are considered some of the best around. They are in limited availability, so the price is based on the supply and demand. Since there was no supply to accurately determine the going price, the safe option is to start on the higher end. If it doesn't sell, you can always go lower. If you started lower, you would not likely get a chance to raise the price before you are sold out.
I'm definitely not an Economics major, but I totally understand where Marstar is at with their pricing.
Look for these to be gone in a week or so, if not the price may drop by the new year. Or not; it sounds like these have been sitting around a bit. Not a big deal to sit on them another few months at the current price.
