Chinese Sks

The Chinese factory 26 is the most accurate SKS I've shot to date .............blade bayonet screwed in barrel made on old Russian tooling............The Soviet version still shoots claybird size groups at 100 yards.......Harold

Same thing happened with the Yugo SKS. And the M44s from Poland. And the Nagant revolvers.
Had a yugo, shouldn't have sold it, didn't get an M44, should have, I remember the Nagant revolvers at Tradex for dirt cheap, I didn't get one! I didn't get a Chinese SKS, I figured they were so cheap that I would maybe get one later and stuck with the Russian ones!! When will I learn. To be fair, I did get some firearms ( antique handguns for example ) a few years ago that have doubled in price. However I hopefully will not make the mistake of letting the good stuff go by again! When our sponsors bring something else cool in, I will be on it like a fat kid on a smartie!

A lot of the Russian SKS's have seen use before being refurbed. Also the stocks they're in have shrunk with age and are loose.

Funny you mention this, I got a Laminate refurb SKS ( with the new laminate stock ) after years ago and the stock was HUGE compared to the original SKS hardwood and laminate, Also more boxy. Didn't look anything like what It should have!

I eneded up trading it off because It was refurbed beyond point of return. Made an ok shooter but I was unhappy with it over all.

My first SKS ( laminate 54 from Westrifle) is very loose, and others I have over the years are anywhere from the same to quite tight! I am finding that the latest batch( at least the ones at the local CTC 's ) are very tight, they all seem to be from the same refurb factory, but I may be wrong there. I have gone through 90 of them a couple weeks ago and will be going through about 40-50 more today and so far they are very tight in the stock, I will take one of the sks I already bought apart to see if they shimmed them, although I cannot see them doing that! Has anyone seen an SKS shimmed from the refurb factory?

Remember buying chinese sks for 129.99 or 139.99 in an hardware store on 18th Street in Brandon MB.

Glad I bought more than one :p

In the early 80's they were $75-$99 in the Gunrunner for Chinese "spiked" SKS's............AR10,FNFAL + Iranian G3's $500..........Harold

Yea so they didn't go up much till last year, as I remember them at $130-$140 right up to their disappearance, I hope Marstar or another importer can get another couple containers of them in!

I have two 625 SKS' but I'm more interested in getting other factory numbers. They are harder to find.
