Is it worth buying after market new gas block with rail's, do they improved the rifle in any way other than the obvious rails, and what would be the best brands
This OP. If you're practicing distance shooting, a scope is better investment for an SKS than any kind of after market gas block. The only reason to get an after market gas block is if you bought an SKS and it was broken.
I am assuming you mean the gas cylinder and handguard. The rails these aftermarket handguards have usually will not hold zero, so they are essentially useless. If your SKS is working fine, don't bother. Unless you just like the look; it is more of a cosmetic item.
For scoping an SKS, either use the drill and tap side mount, scout mount, or the wartak rail style mount. All. Others are shaky platforms at best. These 3 are the only real option.
