Chinese Surplus SKS Quality

The top tier of both Russian and Chinese are of comparable quality and functionality, with pieces of crap on both sides of the fence.

There case closed, mic drop

To be more specific, it's about the current batch of beat to ####, mismatched late model Chinese SKS we can get, vs the Molot Russian refurbs which are in better shape, all matching, force matching, or possiby mismatch mag for the same price...

x2, well put!

You summarized what I've been trying to convey all along in one simple sentence. The OP asked what is better to buy in Canada in December 2017, after all. Thank you!

Now THAT is something I can get behind!

The used car salesman is back....

I have an identical gun to this one. Easily on par to the build quality of the soviet rifles. Weird eh? Its almost like the Russians and Chinese collaborated and made these guns in China under Russian supervision!!

They only worked with them temporarily. They "gave" a bunch of factories to China to help rebuild them after the war. Then China and Russia had a fallout. Russian wanted China to pay back everything Russia "gave" them. China had no money so Russia took all their food. A lot of Chinese people starved to death during those times. They were horrible times. To get food for the county, China traded SKS to other countries just for some food.

The Soviet technicals were out of China by mid 1960. But 1955-1960 is more than a "temporary" stay.

I ordered a surplus chinese sks online recently, it ended up having a “jungle stock”. I thought it was a neat novelty for the price, are they desirable? I read them mentioned earlier in this thread...

When Boris was running the Chinese factory to Russian specs, quality was just as good as in the Motherland. No arguments there.... except Boris didn't stick around too long, that's all.

They only worked with them temporarily. .

You haven't got a clue what temporary means.

The implication you are making is that 6 years isn't a sufficient amount of time for the Chinese to have learned how to build a rifle of comparable quality (or better) than the Soviet SKS45.

I would suggest only that the Chinese aren't as slow on the uptake as you apparently give yourself credit for.

I’m not arguing that the Chinese didn’t have enough time to learn how to properly build an SKS. I like Chinese SKS. Just look at my signature. I wasn’t arguing anything I’m just stating facts that the relationship between Russians and Chinese was very short lived.
