Chinese Tokarev Type 51 value

I have an original Chinese military Type 51 Tokarev. This is NOT the more common Type 54 seen everywhere or a commercial variant. It is dated 1951 with a serial number of 63###. A quick Google search yielded a GunsAmerica auction for an 84### serialed gun at $1,795.00 (and it sold!) though I suspect the price tag is more due to the Chinese arms embargo the US has.

Anyone know what this might be worth? Not looking to sell, just curious.

A few shots. Is this as uncommon/rare as I've been led to believe or is it relatively run of the mill? Finish, as you can see, is less than stellar, but functions fine.
