Gents,

Anyone know what the clearance is between the top of the receiver cover to the under side of a per instruction SKS Choate drill & tap scope mount ?

I have an idea to modify a shotgun saddle mount and for this task I need to know this distance so I don't go too low or too high.

Guessing it is a matter of personal opinion, however it has me wondering.

thanks to anyone who can help.

Bod

No choate mounts in that thread, but at least you get an idea of height.

@Bod, I think I know the saddle mount you're thinking of. Solid sides and just needs a little trimming on the bottom? If their measurements are accurate, it's about 1mm too narrow. It is made of aluminum, surely it can be tweaked a hair wider.

Thanks lads.......
I found a picture on the web of a choate mounted and it showed a measurement of 2.3675" from top of choate to bottom of receiver.
Hoping to find out what that distance is under mount to top of cover as I mentioned before I do the " I've cut it twice already and its still too short" kind of event.

with the provided link, the distance (gap) looks to be about .750" or so.

Thanks again.
