I have read good things about the JMECK mount if you don't want to drill and tap and you don't want a scout scope. I have used a scout scope on the dovetail if you completely remove the rear sight and it worked well, but not much available for scout scopes.
I also got a mosin that bubba already drilled and put a side mount on, but took off at some point and i was thinking a choate side mount similar to the SKS mount might work well.
