Choices choices choices... on what optic to buy

Thank you! Ive got the opportunity to purchase one at 1750 for a nxs 2.5-10. Worth it?

Only you can answer that question! 😆

If its in excellent shape i think that price is fair. Glass is noticeably better than the SHV and I can tell you from personal experience the peace of mind is priceless!

NF in general hold their value really well, so if you decide to change it up down the road you should be able to your money back out of it 😉

Cheers!

The nightforce nxs 2.5-10 is probably worth the $1750, but you need to provide more info on it. Is it a 42 objective or 32? does it have capped turrets or exposed turrets with the zero stop? which reticle does it have? There are lots of options

It’s my experience that good optics seldom need warranty in general. I own a zeiss v4 4-16x44, however I would prefer the gen 2 leupold vx6-hd or vx5-hd.

I use a swaro z5 3-18x44 that I bought used. It has a 1” tube. It has about 13 Moa in it so that gets me out like 550 yards with the 30-06 it’s on.
I broke a piece inside the turret being a dummy with it and they fixed it timely and at no charge.

The Cabela house brand use to be made by meopta, same as their binoculars. I've compared them in store side by side with high end scopes and could not tell the difference (chromatic aberration, edge focus, light gathering). Not sure if this is still the case.

Sounds like you are looking at a c458. Those have both red or green illumination not that a guy needs both......Yes if it isn't a beater it is worth the $1750. That is a good deal if everything on it works properly.

The Trijicon 3-9 is a great scope. Rugged and reliable.
The Leupolds are good, but I prefer the older VX-III or 3 for rugged reliability. The VX-5 will be above your budget; even used.
The main line of NF will also be above your budget (even used), but the SHV should be within it. Sorry, I have no first hand experience owning them, but have shot rifles equipped with the NX lines. Known for their rugged reliability.

I am not a range and dial hunter/shooter; I prefer the BDC type reticles for quick use in the field, as most of my game is taken at less than 400 yards (my average shot distance across all terrain types over the past 38 years is just 132 yards! despite having taken a few animals at over 300 yards). The Leupold B&C reticle is my favourite.

Meopta has a good reputation as noted above, as does Kahles.

As for warranty, I have used Leupold and Swarovski over the years...and mostly for used scopes I have acquired that had issues, or for when I fell and banged my scope. Leupold serviced and returned via mail and both times back on my rifle in 11 and 12 days respectively. Swarovski had to go stateside and took 3 months both times. (still not bad as it was in the off season).

Nice find!
I really like mine (it has the FireDot reticle).
Great glass!
It was originally on my 338 Federal, but is now on my 358 Win.
(I put a VX-6HD 2-12x42 illuminated B&C on the 338 Federal as it has more reach than the 358 Win.)

Hi black ram, are the turrets a little sloppy? The serial number states that its a 2019, (last numbers are AF). I notice the clicks are crisp. I can pull the turrets out and theyll rotate freely and be rotated anywhere
