So, my awesome wife, whom I love very much just got me a gift certificate for a Stoeger OU shotgun for our 5 year wedding anniversary! Now, here's my problem: The shop only has the 20 gauge in stock, and it'll take a week to get the 12 gauge....... I don't know if I want to wait the week for the 12ga... What do you guys think? I already have 2 pump action 12s, a single shot 20, and single shot .410. I'll be using the gun for grouse, clays, and other small game. Think I should just take the 20ga he has in stock? Or wait for the 12?

Ammo price is also a factor. This guy sells Rio brand shells, and his 12/20 are the same price. But the local CTC doesn't really have any 20ga, and only has bulk packs in 12ga...

Ahhh, I hate choices!

I believe that the Stoeger 20 and 12 is built on the same frame? If that is the case, then the guns are the same weight as I recall. So if I were you I would get the 12. If it was a scaled frame (meaning the 20 was lighter) I might go for the 20.

Go for the 20 O/U ..... you already have a couple of 12 repeaters.

Better grouse gun IMHO ....

And take your wife out to dinner ... she's a good one !

Well...

#1 She's a Newfie.
#2 She doesn't drink (Yea, never thought you'd hear that eh?!)
#3 she puts up w/ my Sh!t so, I kept her.
*Edit* #4 and she loves guns! :D (1 or 2 pics in the wifes under 30 thread)

I bought her a $200 gift certificate to a spa, and a nice little pink leatherman multi-tool to go along w/ the Pink R.A.T. Izula knife I got her awhile ago.

I went w/ the 20 gauge... I didn't want to wait the week for the 12. I can always buy it later. As for selling some to purchase others, NO WAY! I've only ever sold two guns, and that's because they were busted beyond repair, and sold them for parts.

My wife also bought me an M14 as a welcome home present when I got back from tour in Afghanistan... I think I'll keep her. :D

Dude, girls that like guns are a hard commodity to come by, hold on to her! Wait ... You are pulling our legs! I've never met a Newf that didn't drink! Arn't the all weaned off the tit on a bottle of screech?!
