I typically use my field guns that are choked IC/MOD, and then I often shoot the chokes backwards - tighter choke on the incoming targets.
I have no problem breaking skeet birds with those chokes and know and know without exception that if i miss a bird it's not because I'm overchoked or underchoked, but because i was either behind or over the bird..
I use diffusion mostly for skeet with 1 oz 8 shot I really like diffusion chokes although alot of other shooters don't but really anything from diffusion to ic seems to work good for skeet and most sporting clay courses and 5 stand
Dexter, skeet gets addicting. Best you wean off those Crappy Tire 100 round packs and find a place that sells 250 round flats for a good price. Flats of Federal Top Guns or Win Supertargets are around $55 +/-. And a 1oz #9 load would help with the cheek and shoulder pounding from recoil.
Before you know it, you'll have three sub gauge tube sets and 4 reloaders on the go.
I only know Ontario prices. Can get Federals from Lawry's shooting sports in Caledonia ON for $52. And Hummason Manufacturing in Anchaster ON. has the Winchesters for the same price.
