Choke Tube lube

Go to CanTire and buy a small jar of anti-seize. You will be very old when you run out.....possibly 300 yrs old!

Do you guys have problems with the tube seizing in? I have the oppsite problem of it working itself loose after several boxes of shells, even when I torque really tight.

I only had a problem once on my old 870. My other shotguns have no problems. I just figured it is a great product why not use it.

I use a product called "Superlube". Its a synthetic grease that has a ton of uses. I use it in my fishing reels, it works like dielectric grease for electric connections on the boat or quad, and it comes in the box with new Savage muzzle loaders for the breech plug. I get it free from work too so that is also one of the reasons that it finds so much use around here.

I just keep mine ( Beretta Optima/extended ) lightly oiled with Beretta oil or G-96 oil, and yes, finger tight. I have a choke wrench, but have never had to use it.

If anything, they're somwhat prone to back out a little, but after 20 years of Briley's and 10of Optima's , I'm in the habit of checking every so often between stations. I also make it a habit of backing the chokes out 2 or 3 turns when I put the gun away after using it,
and always, checking for choke tightness before using it again.

I use Briley choke tube grease. It prevents the tubes from seizing but also is a little "sticky" and helps reduce any backing out.

plus one for CLP. I used grease but found that it was harder to clean out and dirt and fouling stuck to it.
