I have the factory "breach" tactical choke on my 870. I have 2 questions. Best choke to keep accuracy with slugs, and has anyone ever bought chokes from states and brought them home? Is it legal?

Can't comment on accuracy with slugs and chokes, I have no experience.

A choke is a firearm part, and thus subject to US export restrictions. You can do it legally if you get the paperwork. Or you can order from a US-based online retailer and have them send it to you (in which case they act as the exporter).

Since they are merely parts and not firearms, they are not subject to Canadian import restrictions.

Hell! It's only illegal for Americans to export. American border only checks u when u enter the states, and seeing as canada hasn't any laws regarding parts. You will be fine. And all those homeland security checking Canadians is bull ......t!

wolverine has plenty of chokes... the most expensive being a 30 dollar full choke ... (Cant shoot slugs outa that PS lol)

Chokes are cheap, so buy em all! As for what ones shoot slugs no idea. Allthough I have the Rem express tactical, so I also have the door break tacticool choke... shot a slug fine. I do belive they are cylinder choke... I don't think id try anything further mainly because I have no idea. Different slugs can be different sizes ect ect.

Try the Improved Cylinder choke with your 870 Tac. That's what I have and it performs well, both with 00 Buck and slugs. They are around $20 here in Canada. Don't know about bringing them up from the U.S., sorry.

I use an improved cylinder in my 870 for 00 buck and slugs now. I have the tactical version choke and find the IC is a more accurate for me at 25 and 50 meters. The guy at the local gun store thinks that the tactical choke shoots better for him. I also have a modified choke, but haven't used it yet.

Is that barrel threaded on the outside or inside? Is it rifled or is it smooth? I bought an 870 tactical but it didn't have a threaded barrel and just a cylinder bore. Looking at putting a breacher on it. Can't seem to find an 18.5" or 20" barrel with the RemChoke!
