Im new to shotguns and i just purchased my first this past weekend. Shes a Remington 870 Express with a 26" barrel.

I want to start trap shooting at the club and i was wondering about the right choke to use. Is the choke that came standard on my gun (Remington Choke) adequate or should i get something different just for trap shooting?

Thanks in advance! :D

The Express's usually come with a Modified Remchoke unless the gun is a turkey gun then they come with an XFULL Remchoke (will work aswell). If your useing 1 1/8oz #8 for shells the Modified choke will work fine for you. With light shells or 7 1/2's you may want to go to something tighter. Each gun/choke combo will preform differently even if they are marked the same. You have to try and find out. Chokes dont make as big a difference as most or alot of people think either. Change chokes will change your pattern size by a few inches each step up or down in choke you make. When you miss it's usually by feet and inches wouldnt help you.
My trap gun is choked Full on the bottom and X Full on the top. With my sons Beretta he's shoot Mod. and Improved Mod.

Have fun

ya it got the 20" slug barrel with it as well. im gonna pick up an R3 recoil pad before i start putting large quantities of slugs thru it. my shoulder was aching after like 5 of them the other day.
