I have gone away from the optiloks and gone to Burris sako bases and signature rings, they weigh about 2 oz less than the optiloks and are very stable. I have a 6x42 FX111 leupold on my 700 TI which I like, but it's a fair bit more open than the northern ontario bush. A nice 3x9x40 would work great, a leupold vx11 or a Zeiss conquest(my fav scope period).

I agree Artie although I did play highschool football which was a blast. I just shake my head at former friends of mine who are still "working towards the dream" when they coul dbe "working"

Yah I used to have the same problem but since I just sold 3 of my rifles to get the Sako I only have to choose between the Sako and an M14
