Choosing 9mm

"but the trigger reset is loooong" - ok. at least you got my idea why I might not like the beloved CZ...
Thanks for the ideas. I will think about it

You said ipsc is in the future? If so and you want to shoot production that will play a part in it as well make sure it's approved.

If your thinking about a "modern" plastic striker fired gun, the PPQ and SFP9's are worth a shot..... the only downsides are expensive magazines and maybe timely spare parts supply.

I'll stop belabouring the dead horse after this point, but if it's trigger reset that bothers you, I've put SAO triggers into 2 of my CZs - they have both take up and overtravel adjustments. The competition hammer gets rid of the camming in the non-shadow models as well, where the single action pull has the hammer raise a touch before letting loose, due to the geometry of the sear engagement (did that to my 85 Combat).

Cheers ;)

It took me several pistols before I found a 9mm that I truly liked, and another one that I could tolerate because...history (Hi Power)

When I said long reset about the P210 it's not nearly as long as the DA/SA guns, just longer than all the SAO's I listed. I believe that as soon as you go SAO in IPSC you'll be bumped into Standard where major/minor power factor comes into play and most guys choose to shoot .40 s&w or .38 super. Just something to consider.

For my personal budget, it comes down to these two (one polymer, and one all-steel):

1) M&P9 M2.0 ($600). I think there's no better bang for your buck

2) CZ75 SP-01 Shadow ($900). Top choice if you can spend alittle more.

the CZ 75 B trigger from what I have heard is'nt the greatest . same with the CZ Omega. try a SP 01 as someone else said. it's heavier and it does'nt have the internal safety the others have - better trigger pull . as for Glocks they just feel like I'm holding a water bottle in my hand. sure they are known for going bang all the time but they just don't turn me on . to each their own.

and as for the Walther I shot what I think was a model 99 and I hated it . a buddy at my club has a 40 cal S&W M&P and he loves it . the Beretta 92 from what I have heard can't handle hot loads like the CZ either. a friend of mine put some Canadian Military 9mm rounds through his 92 years ago and said he almost ruined it. I have found the CZ pre B 9mm to be one of the most accurate pistols I have ever shot. your choice .
