so my question are they the only base and ring that i can use ?, if not what do you guys recommend to use

Since finding Talley Lightweight mounts (ring and base all in one) I don't mount my glass with anything else.

They are available for just about every rifle out there including the 750 Rem.

Not what you want if you need to remove the scope on a regular basis (ala, quick disconnect rings), but if you want it to stay there you don't have to worry about the ring coming loose from the base.

so there is no need for a base with this right ?

I've mounted a 3-9X42 Redfield scope with the low rings (on a Weatherby/#2 contour barrel), and with flip caps on the objective there is just a bare sliver of light visible between the cap and the barrel - so super close, which I like.

I used the low mounts with a 3-9X40 Burris and there is "significant clearance", again on another Weatherby (VGII).

I love the ring/base all in one and they are well made, no shimming/bedding to get them to mate snugly.
