You can't go wrong with either one, it's up to your personal preference, although I am a little suspicious about the price though, assuming they are in very good-excellent condition. Me, I'd take the Tactical Custom II.
I can't really give any info to help you as far as a comparison of Kimbers is concerned. But, over the years I've had a number of target quality Colt 1911's plus a couple of custom jobs, one of which I still have, originally manufactured in 1918.
This was one done up, for his own use, by a gunsmith and shooting buddy of mine who passed away a few years ago.
Not long ago, I got the opportunity to pick up a like new Kimber Super Match II and the trimmings that it came with, for a very reasonable price.
Kimber tells me it's their 'top of the line' and I believe it. Out of any 1911's and 1911 wannabes I've had, this Super Match II is by far the smoothest and sweetest shooter of them all.
I would get the gold match which I believe has a hand fitted barall,as well as adjustable sights.I have a team match with the fitted baral and it is tight.
gold match has adj rear sites and is listed as the best kimber makes.
the tactical has tritium sites.
depends what ya want it for i guess.
if your wanting it for accuracy then the gold, if you want it for..... errr..... tactical night use at the range then the tactical (ya i couldnt even type that with a straight face)
the stainless of course if you want a 9mm which a lot of people do want now a days in a 1911.
