Choosing the right Cz

I waited a long time to own a 22 as nicely made as the 452 and 527 I have now. Had them both for a couple of years now but I still take them out of the safe just to fondle. Cold dead hands guns. Final purchase. And damn they shoot good. Never fail to bring a smile to my face.

buy a 452 no matter what model as they are tack drivers! But Do Not buy a 455 as anything that is switch barrel will ussually not as accurate, also this gun is not as well built as the 452! Dale in T-Bay

I seriously doubt CZ would make the mistake of replacing the 452 line with something less accurate & of less quality. You can get the same accuracy for less money but their quality is what sets them apart from the rest of the pack in the price range.

If you want a CZ now & the switch barrel option doesn't interest you, the 452 is the obvious choice over the 455.

Well I do have all of the CZ 22's and for my money the most accurate of the group is the 22 Full stock model, 2nd best in my group is an American that the previous owner had bedded, followed by the varmint then the 16 inch American. I generally shoot all of these rifles with the 38gr Federal American Eagle ammo, but you can get tighter groups with the European offerings if you are prepared to spend that kind of money on rimfire ammo.
Those Yo-Dave trigger kits are a real bargain for $20.00 and work very well. FS

Just bought an American off a fellow gunnutter and await arrival. Have been looking for a quality left handed 22 for a long time and I think it's on the way. :D
Have ordered a YoDave trigger kit.
Any suggestions who has 5 and 10 round mags available?

Check P&D, Reliable Gun, Western Gun Parts. I have only gone as far as to adjust my trigger down as far as the nut will go and seems good enough. My CZ527 runs 3.5 to 2.5 not set and set so leaving that one alone. There is adjustment for all three ranges of trigger on that one. Mine are lefties too and such a delight to shoot. Taking them all out this afternoon. Woo Hoo Range day!!

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the Sako Quad's accuracy. If I remember right they are guaranteed MOA at 100 yards.

I just dialed in my CZ452 American leftie yesterday to set up for 100m. On a windy day shooting CCI Minimags I watched the bullseye disappear as I chewed it out. Damn! I always thought of a 22 as a 50yd gun. I stand corrected. And I have done nothing to this gun other than adjust the trigger. Also tested the pull on my CZ527 223 with set trigger. Set is 2.5lbs, not set is 3.5 and there is adjustment too-I have not touched the trigger yet. Nothing like my heavy trigger pull Rugers. Shoot it first before you start spending money on triggerwork. This is not a 1022. If you go to the CCI website the first hint is they zero ballistics charts at 100yds.

I'd get either the American or the Varmint. Despite the differences in barrel weight and action screws, they both shoot equally well. I bought a used American a few years ago and really like its light weight and accuracy. I'd only get the lux if I wanted to shoot iron sights, not that it can't be scoped, its just that its designed more for a cheek weld that aligns the eye with the iron sights, not a scope with its centre line elevated well above the action.
