Hello all

I just recently got a Thompson Center 50 cal. Omega muzzle loader and I am Trying to figure out what Bullet/Powder type to use. For starter i am most likely to go with the pellets rather that the loose type. I have been reading about all the different makes of slugs. ie T/C Hornady and so on. But when I am reading about the T/C's everyone is saying the are very accurate but the don't expand worth a crap and same as the hornadys. So if you guys and gals don't mind suggesting to me and telling me what you use that would be fantastic.

Ya I have a manual. to make a long story short I am basically wondering what type of combinations hunter are using. Like 777 pellets with hornady slugs. I am just trying to gather info.

Two or three pellets behind a 250 grain TC Shockwave or SST will give you great performance and exceptional expansion.

I use 2 777 pellets and a 44cal 240 gr Hornady in the 50 cal sabot. Great accuracy and dropped a buck this past fall in his tracks. The 2 or 3 pellet debate is a good one but I chose 2 pellets. I couldn't see using 3 pellets over 2 to gain less then 20% faster fps. It boiled down to the groups I was shooting with 2 pellets.
Good luck, Black Powder shooting is fantastic.
