Hi Guys and Gals,

Silly question...would a Christensen Arms Modern Precision Rifle in .223 with a 16" Barrel be a restricted...non restricted firearm? Does anyone have any experience with Christensen? Quality okay?

So one guy has an issue and you point that out as the quality? Really?

Guy wanted to know about quality. Bartok's barrel, while not necessarily representative of all CA products, definitely lacked the quality that was expected.

More than less, it's the way the company failed to handle the situation that is worthy of pointing out.

Wow thanks everyone, what timing...I checked out the other thread and it definitely isn't a good situation. I hope that persons situation gets resolved in a positive manner.

I am looking for .223 so I would assume that the wear on the barrel wouldn't be as big of an issue?

Also it’s not PR fault that the barrels are late.
I bought directly from Christensen and they promised 8 weeks, it took them about 30 weeks . (7 barrels).
Once the barrels left that sh!t hole and got into PR hands it went very smoothly.

I have an MPR and I love it. It’s light, shoots lights out, nice trigger and seems to be good quality. I can’t speak for CA as far as OEM support because I haven’t needed any. The one nitpick I have with the rifle I own is that the brake is slightly out of time, maybe 1/32 of a turn. I got this in 6.5cm with a 22”bbl, and it’s the perfect rifle to bring backpacking as it is so short when folded. I like the trigger; it’s set well from factory and breaks clean, better than most triggers on most guns by a long way. I changed out the standard AR style grip for an ergo, which is nicer.
