A buddy told me about this rifle he was told was for sale, owner described it as "an Enfield rifle with scope in a wood box".
We expected the worst but it turned out to be a 1944 T in matched transit chest with matched scope tin.
Crate had not been opened since 1971 and belonged to the fellas father who bought it but never fired it.

My buddy knew I liked these so I had first crack at it, I wasted no time and it is now mine!

Merry Christmas to me! :d

Kinda the whole kiss and tell thing... I don't want people to think I paid too much or too little but let's just say he didn't give it away.

^great reply! I don't know a whole lot about these things, but maybe enough to know that's an exceptional find. Congrats! I think I've been a "good boy" this year, but I have a hunch Santa won't be delivering one of those to me any time soon! :)

To add to it I paid what he asked, and as he said "not a penny less" lol.

Absolute keeper, I won't even pass it on to my kids, when I go I'm getting cremated and burried in it!!

Lovely gun! But I expect there will come a time in your old age when the government has forsaken you and you’ll have to sell it for a months worth of cat food.

Beautiful find, congratulations! I'm always happy to hear these stories, knowing that the treasures are still out there, waiting to be found.

One day I hope I'm approached in the same manner....amazing.
