Bought a used foxpro as an upgrade to my primos call. Decided to try it out this am. We live right on a valley full of bush and trees. Walked about 400 yards north of the house and setup prone with a rest in some tall grass between 1/4s of land which is a high spot. The caller was in the low spot of the field about 50 yards away. Basically the fields roll up and down with little off shoots on the edge of the valley.
Started with some female calls and after some silence went to coyote pup howls and then distress. Muted it and sure enough I see one booking it in my direction. Dialed the ole nikon up to 7, Right as it crested about 250 yard away it stopped almost facing me.
6.5x55 with 100grn hollows at 3200fps was like a ton of bricks on Jupiter.
Rifle is a custom jobbie. 43 kar98 action, new zastava barrell, some kind of adjustable trigger in a nice stock. Tight chamber compared to my husky, gotta watch how my dies are set.

I wanted to stay and call some more, but I need to get some fire wood ready for the Christmas bon fire. Ended my dry spell atleast. Lots of coyotes this year. Even saw some on my yard cam.
