Sorry to hear ; these internet scams involving stolen identities and fake gun sales seem to be pretty common these days.....and are a very low priority for the police.....

As far as the police, is it worth your while to physically go to the detachment and show them pint-offs of everything? It might be a little more likely that you will get some interest in a fraud case.

I defiantly picked up that vibe.....

I had a much move interested response reporting a dented fender (hit & run) @ the local Can-Tire......

if it's any consolation, that shorty I been building for that trade with ya is "very" near ready for a new home ;)

So sorry to hear! i don't really feel comfortable doing business on other sites because of this. Too bad the cops won't actually do anything about it.

That's actually why I stopped dealing on Firearms Canada back in the last decade..... and incidentally how I found this forum back in '09!

Some guys just have to learn a lesson twice I guess......
 
Don't feel bad about being a trusting person. It's good not to lose all faith in other people. Karma will come back on the #### who pulled this.
 
Since we'd never do something like that, we assume most others won't do it either.....so basically we good people trust other people to be good.
Unfortunately not always the case.
However, I find there are more good people than bad people.:)

That said....I hope the bad karma finds him soon enough. He deserves it.

Had the firearm in question been a restricted or prohib, would the RCMP be more interested I wonder?

Internet theft is not something that too many police forces are interested in allocating scarce resources to combat-particularly since most scams originate from outside the country.

That said, I've had great success on several deals done here with CGN members. I'll only deal with CGN'ers with good trader ratings OR are fairly close to where I live so I can inspect the firearm personally.
 
Sorry to hear you got scooped, I've seen an 800 Winchester garand for sale on few other sites, all comments on the add are beware of scam as your not the only who has been taken. I fear this person(s) is doing this quite regularly and would love to see some sorta justice on this person.

The RCMP is disinterested in knowing someone is using a stolen gun license identity fraudulently????
So are they just interested in throwing lawful gun owners in jail but don't care about the criminals doing firearms offences? What the fack is going on here?
