Well now that Christmas is over, I wanted to pass on a Gun nut style recycling tip.

I was given one of those Christmas cards that speaks when you open it. While funny the first few times, the novelty really starts to wear off quickly. So I took a quick look inside at the electronics. Well was I ever in luck The battery running this card was a CR2032 3V Lithium battery!!! Good news because I accidentally forgot to turn off the illuminated reticle on my Falcon 1.5-5x scope about a week ago. Although there is an extra battery included with the scope, I really didn't want to use it up.

So I removed the battery from the Christmas card and it worked perfectly in the Falcon scope. Recycling at it's best. :D

Wouldn't this fall under the reuse part of the 3 R's (reduce, reuse, recycle)?

Go down to the local card store and ask if they have any broken ones they can give you. Mom works at Halmark and every now and then they get some that a newb will break or rip. Might be able to grab them for free and get the batteries out of them.
