I picked up a busted Shiloh Sharps last year. Apparently the owner was hunting moose and had it strapped to a quad and went between two trees that were closer than he thought. Destroyed the gun but I bought the pieces and am bringing it back to life. A lot of the original Sharps were abused and repaired but they did the job. I figure I can do the same with this one. I bent everything back with help of a acetylene torch. Tig welded the tang back on. I put a Green Mountain 45-70 barrel in 30” half octagon on it. I milled out the broken pieces in the wrist and glued in some scraps of walnut. Blued casehardened the barrel and action. Now I have a few weeks of applying oil to the stock. In the end it will be a nice Sharps with a few scars.
