My son would be gaga over a gift like that (he's 14 as well).

I suggested the other day that I am going to get licensed and pick up a .22 for plinking, and asked if he'd like to learn to shoot and he was bouncing around he was so excited! He plays video games, but when it comes to the real thing, he has a great attitude and interest... so this will be a good family thing.
