I`ve been reading about these new chrome silicon springs. Has anyone on here used them are they really that good or is it just hype?? input would be appreicated. I`m thinking of putting one in my 1911 .45 thank you
I have an ISMI spring too, i dont notice a diffrence. BUT the deal with these are they last alot longer. the average 1911 recoil spring it recomended be changed every 5000 or so rounds, the ISMI last something like 50,000 before it loses stength and needs replacing.
Brownells got most of them.
They are the best spring you can get as for durability.
You should know that Wolf spring are the main supplier of most manufacturer.
The Wolf variable spring are unique in the way pressure applied : less when the gun is in battery and progessively more as the slide go rearward. This is a unique product.
The ISMI spring apply more closing pressure : this give a different feeling when the slide come back to close again and some say this cause more muzzle movement.
The Wolf variable feel smoother but this is very subjective.
I use ISMI as mag springs and Wolf as recoil spring, mainspring ect..
