So i will be getting this cheap and decent looking handgun in the next few months and the research ive done is it needs a little work to be good (polished trigger and slide) but i could not find anything that tells me if the slide is made of stainless or chrome. I would like to bring out a little more shine on this handgun to make it look more shiny chrome rather than the satin look. Has anyone done this before and does anyone think this would even be possible?

If you mean trigger job, then yes. They are not stainless. Chrome plated with bead blast finish as it looks to me.
As to polishing the slide, I suppose you could, but you'd have to be careful you don't polish the chrome off. There's a only a few thousands of an inch of it.

It can't be polished. It is a dull, very hard finish. It is a hard chrome finish. The gun is the same steel as all Norinco 1911's. Mine was a complete disaster out of the box. Barrel to bushing to slide fit was very loose. Slide to frame was very loose, barrel lug pin kept walking out, beavertail safety needed work, front sight fell off. After a new barrel bushing, peening the slide, staking the lug pin and sight, and work on the safety, it is a great shooter. If you want to risk buying a project gun, buy the Norinco. If you want something good out of the box, and only a little more money, buy a SAM. I have both, so I know from experience. My Chrome Norinco...

Try an area under the grip first so you can cover it up if it goes wrong. ;)
I did polish the feed ramp and magwell. They look good using 600 grit paper. The only problem I saw was in the magwell. The tool marks under the chrome will show more when polished.

If it looks good post a pic. I'm sure some of us would like to see the results.

Wow kschneider that's a really beautiful firearm! Even with the hard chrome it looks outstanding haha and i will as soon as i get my handgun :p i still need to go through the RPAL process as i only have my PAL :( oh well :(
