Chronograph advice

I have a Chrony Beta but I stopped using it a few years ago due to inconsistent velocities from trip to trip and the hassle of setting it up when the range is busy. I bought a Magnetospeed V3 earlier this year but only had a chance to use it a few times before the range closed. So far I really like it, never misses a shot, consistent velocities and can set up without disturbing the line. The only drawback is the point of impact shift. It’s consistent enough that I usually load 2-3 extra cartridges for velocity testing then remove it for groups.

on orders $300 and over, so yes his Chrono at $319 qualifies for free shipping.
Still $55 less from the link you posted.
Cheaper still, from Brownells, depending on your provincial tax bracket.

I try to support site sponsors whenever I can. It was a Christmas present to myself, so worth it!

Not sure wher to post this but I figured this spot would be as good as any.

Just looking for some oppinions on which chrono on the lower end of cost are worth buying. I don't need a pile of features just a readout for muzzle velocity.

Thanks

Most of the lower end ones will do just fine if you are able to set them up outside where you plan to shoot. I know some who have all of the ones mentioned through this thread and have had little to no issues with them and do what they want them to.
I do the majority of my shooting at an indoor range with handguns and the only one that would work for me was the LabRadar.

Labradar is head and shoulders above everything else. The Magnetospeed can't be used with a lot of guns like pistols so it's never been an option for me. The Caldwell Bluetooth unit seems like a pretty good option for those on a budget.

I have checked the Magnetospeed against the Labradar and it was consistent, but read 10 fps slower consistently. I only need it for comparitive speeds so it works well enough for those times that I don't feel like hauling and setting up the Labradar.
